Q: For RJ Series can one replace just the flow control switch while keeping the existing T? Just want to know if we can just replace the switch without replacing the T.
A: That is correct. The flow switch is threaded into the PVC Tee fitting, and you can just unscrew it and swap the part easily.
Q: Is there an indication on the item to show direction of flow on the flow sensor? Or is it bi-directional?
A: Yes, there is a raised arrow on the black plastic head of the flow switch. It must be facing along the direction of the water flow.
Q: I just need the switch and attached cable?
A: The flow switch is sold with the PVC fitting, but you can simply unscrew the flow switch from the PVC and screw it into place where a current unit might be.
I received my RJ-30 generator in the winter of 2019, installed for last season, this season I have been fighting with algae growth, and I think it is due to a defective flow sensor, is there some way I can clean it, or otherwise troubleshoot it before I have to replace the whole thing? I touched the wire on it today, and it stopped flickering with no-flow, and started generating again, so I am sure this is the issue. Please let me know,
A: Louise, we're glad to help you with that. It may simply be an issue with the flow switch's connection or the part itself. Give our tech support team a call at (888) 206-9938 ext:2 and we'll happily assist.
Q: Is the connector on the end a standard RJ-11 phone adapter? A critter chewed through mine and I need to patch a new end on.
A: I believe that is the correct port name.
Q: Does this come as show, switch/cable/PVC?
A: This item does not include the PVC tee fitting. If for some reason the PVC tee fitting is needed, you can find that here: https://www.circupool.com/CircuPool%C2%AE-Flow-Switch-Housing_p_237.html
Q: Is this the right flow switch for an RJ 60 ?
Q: Which direction does the flow switch face. With water flow holding the leg open that already stays open or against the water flow causing the leg to stay down.
A: The best way to confirm is to look at the little arrow on the black plastic cap, it should point in the same direction of the water flow. On this model in particular, the spring-loaded flap gets pushed into the post that stick out in the center of it.
Q: does this switch also read salinity?
A: No, this flow switch used on RJ+ and Universal models solely detects the water movement.
Q: This also senses temperature, right?
A: This specific item is not a temperature sensing item. If you are looking for that specifically, you may want to contact tech support at 888-206-9938 ext:2
