It is very easy to upgrade to CORE CONTROL from an existing CORE salt chlorinator. To add the new CORE CONTROL electronic unit and cell cartridge, the existing CORE electronic controls and cell cartridge would be removed from the existing cell housing, and then the new CORE CONTROL cell cartridge would thread into place in the existing cell housing, and get connected to the new CORE CONTROL electronic unit which would get mounted nearby on a vertical surface.
Installation should of course always be done by a qualified individual. Basic CORE CONTROL installation is virtually as easy as the existing CORE models. The cell gets plumbed using the included template to easily connect its unions to the pipes, the electronic control unit has an included template to allow it to be easily mounted on a nearby vertical surface, and basic the CORE CONTROL setup allows it to be directly connected to a nearby protected outdoor outlet. The included WiFi module is easily hung on the wall and connects to the electronic control unit using an included ethernet cable. Connecting the system to WiFi and the app is extremely easy, simply requiring a mobile device and the network name and password of a WiFi network that reaches your pool equipment.
Upgrading to add chemical monitoring and control is a streamlined process, which will partially vary based on the options you choose. The CORE CONTROL cell housing will be easily replaced with an upgraded version that allows addition of chemical sensors for direct measurement of ORP (for chlorination monitoring and automatic control) and pH (for monitoring, or optionally monitoring and automatic control). The sensors you choose are easily added to the new Cell Housing. If you upgrade to full chemical automation, you'll also add an injector an available port in the upgraded cell housing. This injector gets connected with simple tubing to a storage tank & dosing pump which you'll keep nearby.
Upgrading to add equipment automation has been greatly simplified, and will vary based on the equipment you choose to control. The equipment control upgrade will include an additional control board which will be connected inside of the CORE CONTROL electronic unit, which will allow up to four power connections on/off relays as well as two control relays that will use RS-485 wire connections to control a programmable pump or heater.
I guess technically it makes you a CORE CONTROL freak. But yes, and that’s great news for your pool.
