First Steps

  1. Perform a full water chemistry test for these standard levels:
    • FC, CC, TC, pH, CYA, CA, Salinity, Alkalinity, Phosphates, Nitrates, Metals, Saturation Index
    • Ensure test results are from the last 24 hours, compare to results from previous weeks.
  2. Double check these common issues:
    • Check that your salinity is in range, ideally 3500ppm
    • Clean your cell thoroughly follow the manual's instructions - do this , or until no more "fizzing" occurs after new cleaning solution is added inside the cell.
    • Confirm that input power is present and check that all cables are fully connected.
  3. Restart your unit by turning it off and on, raising its chlorine output level to 100%. Allow it to run at least 5 minutes before proceeding with troubleshooting diagnostics.

Q:Is the orientation of the unit important? The plumbing I want to install it into is roughly horizontal but I would prefer that the head of the control unit was 90% from vertical

Asked by: Marc - 2/10/2022
A: No it's not important. The system can be oriented horizonal, vertically, or anywhere in between.

Q:How can I tell what my salinity level is on the CORE unit?

Asked by: Debbie Thurner - 2/10/2022
A: This system will turn on the Low Salt light at about 2400ppm. This would be the point at which you would simply add more salt to the pool.

Q:The only power source available is 240 volt. Can the core 35 be rewired for a 240 volt connection?

Asked by: Ray Cruce - 2/10/2022
A: No need, it is a dual-voltage unit that automatically converts either 110/220V when connected.

Q:Is the flow through the cell directional? Does it matter which way I install it?

Q:What's the minimum flow required for the Core55? I'm currently at 1700rpm and seeing the no flow light? Any ideas?

Asked by: Iain G - 2/10/2022
A: RPM's are not the same as flow. Based on your plumbing's Total Dynamic Head (resistance to flow), the RPM's just need to be high enough to move the flow switch paddle and to make sure that the water 100% fills the cell with no air gaps or bubbles.

Q:What size PVC pipe does this fit? My plumbing is 1.5"

Asked by: Keith Murray - 2/10/2022
A: This system works with either 2" or 1.5" ID PVC plumbing. In the box it comes with fitting for 2", so if you use 1.5" you would simply use off-the-shelf PVC adapter from the hardware store.
