First Steps

  1. Perform a full water chemistry test for these standard levels:
    • FC, CC, TC, pH, CYA, CA, Salinity, Alkalinity, Phosphates, Nitrates, Metals, Saturation Index
    • Ensure test results are from the last 24 hours, compare to results from previous weeks.
  2. Double check these common issues:
    • Check that your salinity is in range, ideally 4000ppm
    • Clean your cell thoroughly follow the manual's instructions - do this , or until no more "fizzing" occurs after new cleaning solution is added inside the cell.
    • Confirm that input power is present and check that all cables are fully connected.
  3. Restart your unit by turning it off and on, raising its chlorine output level to 100%. Allow it to run at least 5 minutes before proceeding with troubleshooting diagnostics.

Q:I have a pool that has a 15000 gallon capacity will this unit be more efficient?

Asked by: Don - 2/12/2022
A: You typically want your salt system to have AT LEAST 1.5x to 2x the gallon capacity than your actual pool. Take a look at some good information about that here: https://www.circupool.com/5-Reasons-why-you-should-over-size-your-salt-system_ep_94-1.html

Q:Can I replace a SJ 40 cell with and SJ55 utilizing existing SJ40 set-up? Will it actually perform better as I don't appear to be producing salt from existing SJ40

Asked by: Jon - 2/12/2022
A: The SJ55 has a different control module, so you would need the cell and its controls. It does have a much higher chlorine output. I would recommend to check out page 6 of this guide first https://www.circupool.com/assets/doc/CircuPool-SJ-Troubleshooting-Guide.pdf, then call support if you want to upgrade the system.
